Infant & Child Dental Exams: A Great Start for Little Smiles

Why Start Early?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a child's first dental visit by their first birthday, or within six months of their first tooth erupting. Starting early lets Dr. Siva and Dr. Molina catch potential issues before they become bigger problems, and helps your child grow up comfortable with the dentist's chair instead of afraid of it.

What Happens at an Infant or Child Exam

  • Growth & development check: we track how your child's teeth and jaw are developing over time.
  • Gentle visual exam: a quick, friendly look at teeth and gums, no scary tools for the youngest patients.
  • Cavity risk assessment: we look at diet, home brushing habits, and fluoride exposure to flag risk early.
  • Parent coaching: tips on brushing, flossing, thumb-sucking, pacifiers, and teething.

Making It a Positive Experience

Our space-themed office and gentle, patient team are built around one goal: kids who aren't afraid of the dentist. We go at your child's pace, explain everything in kid-friendly language, and celebrate every visit, whether your child sits calmly in the chair or just says hello from your lap.

How Often Should Kids Be Seen?

Most children benefit from a checkup every six months, though we may recommend more frequent visits for kids with higher cavity risk. Regular exams mean small problems get caught while they're still easy, and inexpensive, to treat.
