When We Recommend an Extraction
Most baby teeth fall out naturally on their own schedule, but sometimes a tooth is too decayed to save, is stubbornly refusing to fall out and blocking the permanent tooth underneath, or has been injured beyond repair. In those cases, a gentle extraction is the healthiest option.
Keeping It Comfortable
- Local numbing so your child doesn't feel the procedure.
- Nitrous oxide or additional sedation available for anxious kids.
- Clear, simple aftercare instructions for parents.
After an Extraction
If a permanent tooth won't be ready to erupt for a while, we may recommend a space maintainer to hold the spot open and keep neighboring teeth from drifting into the gap.
